"PUBLISHERS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN RECORD COMPANIES"

18:45 - 19:30 • In the bar

In the UK and US, publishers are more active than ever and the rest of the world is following. With the future of the Music Business firmly moving into the digital age, it's all about right of ownership. The record companies are losing their grip on distribution and publishers are doing more development and A&R. The future of music is no longer in the product, but in the songs?

Nick Battle, who has worked as a publisher for The Spice Girls, New Kids On The Block and Take That, among others, will be interviewed by Christian Ulf Hansen from BMI, London on the subject.
