Magga Stina was the first artist to sign up with Björk's record company, and she is just as original as her fellow country(wo)man. The lyrics are often tragic or surreal and Magga Stina sometimes shifts from English into her Icelandic mother tongue. Probably in order to swear... The music contains a wide range of instruments: slide blues-guitar, laser horn, and some very, very big drums.
The international music press has called her new album a high-class production, and especially the number "I-Cuba" has been praised as a brilliant jazz-tune.
