SPOT 6.0 proved that there is a strong and positive basis and need for this type of festival in Denmark.
Despite a number of practical and technical changes both in form and content, SPOT v. 6.0 had approx. 2000 visitors, of which 1300 were paying guests.
The rising international propagation of music underlines the need for, that those involved in the Danish music scene meet and exchange their knowledge and experiences and are stimulated from without, which the turnout to the seminars and lectures at SPOT v. 6.0 clearly proved.
The wide variety of concerts from the Nordic countries make a summation of these difficult, though one conclusion can be drawn.
The audience chooses the music they want to hear without being hampered by genre or style.
What seems to seperate the sheep from the goats is the authenticity of the composition and expression as well as the performance. We see this as a positive sign, and are happy to note a generally positive critical response to the 45 acts that were presented at SPOT v. 6.0.
SPOT takes part in highlighting that Danish music is rich in talent, both from a national and international perspective. However, we must accept that evolution will also involve a qualified challenge from external competition.
Therefore, there are more than enough hurdles for the music and its promoters to overcome. ROSA looks forward to this challenge in the hope and belief that the Danish rock/pop scene has the potential to make its mark culturally, both at home and abroad.
